When you call us, a member of our experienced front office staff will answer and gladly respond to any questions you have. If you are ready to set-up a counseling session or evaluation, this staff member will walk you step-by-step through the process of getting scheduled. Our front office professionals have extensive experience helping match people with the therapist who can best meet their needs.
Our practice is fortunate to have an office staff comprised of genuinely caring individuals, all of whom have been invaluable members of our team for many years. When you reach out to us, these individuals will make it their priority to listen closely and comprehensively understand your reasons for seeking an appointment.
While you are on the phone, the staff member you are speaking with will also gather all information necessary to bill your insurance company. As a courtesy to you, our staff will then verify your benefits and make their best effort to understand the type and amount of mental health coverage you have available. The staff member you speak with can also provide an overview of the initial paperwork packet that you will be receiving in the mail. This packet includes questions about the concerns that led you to contact us, our office policy statement and an explanation of our HIPAA policies. We ask that you please complete this packet and return it to us prior to arriving for your initial session. By doing so, you will allow the counselor you are meeting with to review the information you have provided, and thus ensure that your time with them will be as productive as possible.

Here at Allenmore Psychological Associates (APA), we have a clinical staff consisting of Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Our providers have been carefully selected based upon their high levels of competence and commitment to helping their clients. APA’s therapists are characterized by diversity in terms of their gender, age, training and clinical specialties.
Our team of providers understands that each individual is unique, and that no therapist will be the right fit for every person who comes to us for counseling. Sometimes clients prefer to meet with a therapist of a specific gender or age, and we take great pride in our ability to increase clients' comfort level by accommodating these requests. With our clients in mind, we have assembled a diverse staff of highly caring professionals, each of whom contribute distinctive areas of training and clinical expertise to our practice.
Over our nearly three decades of serving residents in the South Puget Sound region, our counselors have become very familiar with the types of mental health issues and relationship problems that concern our clients. APA’s therapists specialize in providing individual and family counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Several of our psychologists have additional training in the provision of couples and marriage counseling services, as well as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) as a treatment for PTSD and other traumatic experiences. Our providers also offer medication management, career counseling, and psychological assessment services which include:
• Comprehensive cognitive batteries
• Memory testing
• Dementia and mental status examinations
• ADHD and learning disability evaluations
• Various assessments which help clarify mental health concerns
APA’s counselors provide effective short and long-term therapy which addresses a wide variety of issues, including: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, traumatic reactions, loss and grief, anger, attention deficit disorder, work and school stress, age-related and traumatic memory problems, difficulties resulting from chronic pain or other medical issues, child and adolescent behavioral concerns, and relationship problems.
