Post-doctoral Fellowship Training Program

Allenmore Psychologist Associates P.S. is a private practice that has been in business since 1986. At present, our practice is comprised of seven psychologists, five master’s-level counselors, an ARNP (psychiatric nurse), and five office staff. We have a great reputation in a good market and have been a mainstay in the Tacoma, WA community for over 30 years.

This region has many attractive qualities. These include reasonably priced housing and close proximity to quality school districts. Excellent cultural and arts attractions, professional athletic teams, and outdoor and water sports activities are very accessible. The Sea-Tac International Airport is only 30 minutes away while travel to the city of Seattle can be accomplished in only 41 minutes.

Post-doctoral Fellowship Description:

The 12-month Post-doctoral Fellowship Training Program offers post-doctoral training and education in preparation for the independent practice of professional psychology. As a full-time position, this informal fellowship is designed to meet licensure requirements for supervised postdoctoral professional experience as defined by state regulations (Contact your specific state for details). This includes a minimum of 1,500 hours of supervised clinical experience.

The fellowship is designed to provide a fellow with a training experience that is first, concentrated on deepening their diagnostic and clinical skills with clients served within a private group practice, and second, instructs fellows in the nuances of serving low-income and geriatric clients. Training and services include: individual & couples’ counseling; assessment; psychometrics; and crisis and emergency response.

Pay:

$36,000 per year.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position should meet the following criteria:

  • Capable of receiving a Washington state psychologist license by the fellowship start date (Go to www.doh.wa.gov for details)
  • Interested in working in a private practice

Preferred (but not required) qualifications include:

  • APA-accredited doctoral training and internship experience
  • Experience or interest in treating low-income and geriatric clients
