Brett Copeland, Psy.D.

Brett Copeland, Psy.D. obtained a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from George Fox University in 2007. He completed an internship at Brigham Young University working in the counseling center there.

For a period of time after completing his internship, Dr. Copeland was employed at Beyond Addictions near Portland, Oregon and was in charge of creating and managing their sexual concerns program. Dr. Copeland has been licensed as a psychologist in Washington since 2008. He joined the clinical staff at Allenmore Psychological Associates, P.S. that same year. And, he has been counseling adolescents and adults for an array of problems.

Dr. Copeland performs psychological and vocational evaluations and works with men’s issues, anxiety disorders, depression, personality disorders and life transitions.  His specialization areas include career assessment and counseling and treating sexual addictions.

Dr. Copeland’s approach to treatment is humanistic but also employs cognitive-behavioral techniques and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He employs mindfulness techniques, paradoxical interventions and metaphor when treating problems.  Dr. Copeland also integrates the exploration of life’s personal meaning, spirituality and religious beliefs where indicated and sought out by patients.
